Al Razi from the United Arab Emirates: ”We are launching a new era in pharmacy automation”

Al Razi is the new distributor of NewIcon in the United Arab Emirates, taking the responsibility for the sales and maintenance of the automated equipment and technical support in the region.

The two companies began learning about each other in early 2018, and in June, it was already time for contract negotiations. Initially, NewIcon had explored the market potential in the UAE back in 2013 at the Arab Health exhibition in Dubai.

“Al Razi proved to be the perfect partner in the new market: in addition to sales expertise, they have the project management capability to commission automated equipment, along with their own maintenance and IT departments,” says NewIcon’s Marketing Director Jori-Matti Savolainen.

Merger with a hospital chain

Contract negotiations lasted a year because of the merger of Al Razi with the New Medical Clinic hospital chain in 2018. The chain comprises more than 100 hospitals.

Established in 1974, Al Razi has plenty of experience in pharmaceuticals and the health care sector.

”The market in the UAE has potential, but the market changes fast. This requires active experimentation and good references. Working with Al Razi, we have a real chance, thanks to their good network and reputation as a distributor of medicines and medical devices.”

Latest pharmacy automation technology for pharmacies and hospitals

In the United Arab Emirates, Al Razi is a pioneer in introducing innovative products and state-of-the-art technologies to the care sector.

Enormous hospital complexes are currently being built in the UAE, and the demand for cutting-edge technology is high. The projects are modelled on hospitals in the US and Europe.
